Tamarind / Sweet chutney

Ingredients

1/2 lb tamarind
2 1/2 cups boiled water
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp ginger paste
1/2 tsp red chili powder
salt as required

Method

1. Soak the mashed tamarind in boiled water and leave it for 30 mins
2. Strain the pulp into a bowl
3. Add sugar, jeera, ginger paste, salt and red chili powder.
4. Stir well and serve with pakoras
